Behind the scenes at Dar Leone, we have been busy working on a commission of country cloth (an ancestral textile of Sierra Leone, first handwoven, in strips, on looms, using locally sourced cotton; dyed, using indigo or kola nut and then sewn together to form one piece). DL's country cloth will be designed and hand made by local women in Makeni, Sierra Leone. We can't wait to see the final product and to bring our very own spin on the classic uses of country cloth. We'll keep you posted!!
